Your face is often the first thing people see. It shows your expressions, it’s how you communicate, and it reveals your health. My face has had some blemishes, sun damage and dryness. A few years ago I had a rash on my face that would not go away. I tried everything. I went to the doctor where I was told to try an anti fungal cream or steroid cream. A person close to me had talked to their dermatologist, who had recommended that they use Head and Shoulders (yes, dry scalp shampoo!), I tried it, it burned, went away for a second, then came right back. Finally, I was introduced to dōTERRA Essential Oils. It’s been three years, and I still love using oils on my face. This is how I use specific oils (and my lifestyle changes) to help blemishes, sun damage and dry skin on my face.
Rash, zits, or blemishes on your face can be embarrassing. I found some tricks to help with my face issues. I started by cleaning up my diet. My doctor told me I do not process gluten and needed to remove it from my diet. I can feel and see the difference when I eat clean but sometimes (especially while traveling) I am not able to eat the way I want to, and I love bread! So, I take 2-3 dōTERRA Terrazymes with my meals. These clear up my face, and help my tummy process food.
Sometimes stress, or a change in the environment like traveling from the dry climate of Colorado to the humidity in the Caribbean or visa versa have changed the way my face looks and feels. I have a couple go to oils to treat those bumps that pop up; and have an extra special routine for dryness that I am in LOVE with.
- Mānuka. This buttery roller bottle is the skins best friend. It’s so soothing and works insanely fast on spots on your face.
- HD Clear. This is the zit stick (comes in a roller bottle). It reminds me of my teenage years. It has a strong smell and works just as well. I use this for those stubborn zits, and rashes.
- Geranium, Lavender, Melaleuca, Frankincense, and Lemongrass. This was my first combination to get rid of my stubborn face rash. I put a few (10) drops of each in a little glass jar with some coconut oil and apply a few times a day. Now that my rash is gone I don’t have to use these as much, but I keep them on hand. They each have their own healing properties, and I use them all for a variety of things to sooth a burn or to keep the bugs away.
Alright, I said I have an extra special routine for dryness. I am so happy about these products I wish everyone was able to try them. When I use them I feel like I am soaking my face in a bed of clouds!
