My first name is Katie, some things never change.
Some things do. I recently became a Smith. Going from a Fightmaster to a Smith is a big change. Being a Fightmaster you are unique. You have to spell your name to the person on the other end and it comes out Sigthmaster. If someone was named Fightmaster in your school, they were a cousin or sibling. Being a Smith you are part of the masses. There are 5 other David Smiths in the small town where we currently live, Crested Butte, Colorado. Yesterday, I didn’t hesitate to say my last name was Smith to the old man who runs the cleaners. Last time my mom went to pick up a suit, he couldn’t find it because it was filed wrong. Sightmaster or Fightmaster? Either way…I want my wedding dress back!
Speaking of major life changes, I am about to depart on a lifetime of traveling with my new husband, Dave. We will be starting our many-month honeymoon in Costa Rica. I promise to share my stories with you here.
Those are not all of the life changes. I’m a ‘retired’ teacher, well kind of, until August 2019. For the past 12 years I molded the minds of little ones. Now, I get to continue to teach. I teach about simpler things. I teach about how my life has changed. I teach about my health. I teach about using essential oils to alleviate pain. I teach about how to use essential oils in your home: natural cleaners, toothpastes, lotions, healing a burn, healing an emotional wound, getting rid of stinks, or how to sleep peacefully!
Natural living is a priority in our home. Essential oils provide the missing link to our health and happiness. We use them everyday in a variety of ways. They came into our life a couple years ago. I took an online class by Katie Den Ouden, my mentor. She gave me Wild Orange. When I wanted more I thought I would be economically savvy and buy EOs (Essential Oils) from the health food store. They gave me a headache. They didn’t work. I have since learned that dōTERRA is the ONLY company that uses truly pure essential oils from the Earth. I care what I put in my body. Only the purest will do. I feel that I have a duty to share dōTERRA with the world, especial my friends and family. I get my oils paid for by sharing their amazingness. You can, too.
